Our Developmet History
The Department of Education, situated at the University
Central Campus, serves as the primary academic institution
within the university, delivering a comprehensive array
of educational services. These services encompass
foundational courses, specialized programs at both
undergraduate and graduate levels, and a dedicated
cadre of scholars and practitioners who actively contribute
to the advancement of knowledge and educational
practices on local, national, and global scales. Notably,
the Department of Education holds a preeminent position
within the university, boasting the most vibrant and committed
academic and administrative teams. At the forefront of
the department's leadership are individuals of exceptional
qualifications and extensive international exposure. This
esteemed faculty is officially recognized as the most prolific
in research, deeply dedicated to academic excellence,
and acclaimed both nationally and internationally for their
scholarly contributions. The department offers a diverse
spectrum of undergraduate and graduate degrees across
various disciplines, including English, Nepali, Health, and
Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)
at the undergraduate level. At the graduate level, coursework
is available in areas such as Teaching English to Speakers
of Other Languages (TESOL), Comparative and International
Education (CPL), Nepali studies, Health, and Physical
Education, featuring content that aligns with global
educational demands. Additionally, the faculty administers
a Special Needs Education (SNE) program, with the
overarching goal of enhancing the quality of life for individuals
with diverse abilities. A pioneering approach within the
Nepalese context involves exposing students to minor
courses alongside their primary area of study, fostering
the development of multi-faceted educatorsan innovative
concept in the local academic landscape.
The department is managed by a dedicated team comprising
twenty-five enthusiastic faculty members and four cooperative
and devoted administrative staff. Presently, approximately
1,200 students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate
degree programs within the department, reaffirming its status
as a thriving hub of academic pursuit and knowledge
dissemination.
